Operation Christmas Child
Please donate small items to fill shoeboxes for children in need.
Small toys: cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, harmonicas, kazoos, yoyos, jump ropes, slinkys, etc. School supplies: pens, pencils and sharpener, crayons, markers, stamps and ink pad sets, coloring books, writing pads, solar calculators, etc.
Personal items: socks, sunglasses, ball caps, hair clips, picture books, toothbrushes, combs, washcloths, etc. We setup a ‘store’ and the children ‘shop’ and create beautiful gift boxes that are wrapped and shipped all over the world.

All the items you place in the boxes in church are taken over to our centralized storage at St. Mary’s Chapel on Sunday afternoon.
Every Monday food is bagged and distributed to families in need.
Proceeds benefit Life Centers of Ventura County.
Used clothing & household goods drive to benefit the thrift stores of St. Vincent de Paul.
Transportation for children to visit their parents who are incarcerated on Mother's Day and Father's Day.

Offers assistance with meals to those who are recovering from illness, accidents, injuries, and surgeries.
Prepares and serves healthy meals. It is a unique collaboration of church, temples, and clubs to serve the neediest in Ventura, serving lunch three days a week and breakfast on the weekend.
Padre Serra serves breakfast the 3rd Sunday of each month.

Our local Knights of Columbus Council #5272 is made up of men from Padre Serra and St. Mary Magdalen parishes. They coordinate and carry out fundraising and social events to support a variety of charitable causes and Catholic education.

St. Vincent De Paul (SVDP) offers confidential tangible assistance to those in need on a person to person basis. Aid may take the form of intervention, consultation, or through direct dollar or in-kind service. Those in need should call 805-504-4753. A member is on call Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm.
SVDP is a Catholic organization open to both men and women who wish to grow in their faith by serving God and their neighbor. Members are united in their efforts to conduct their ministry with compassion and confidentiality, while promoting human dignity and respect.
