Knights of Columbus

11/14/2020

Become a Knight!
There is no more effective evangelization tool than regular, everyday people choosing to live their faith in their homes, councils, community, and parish. Through our programs and resources, we provide opportunities to live and spread the Catholic faith. To learn more visit our parish’s Council 5272 representatives in the courtyard.

About
Knights of Columbus is a Catholic fraternal organization founded by Fr. Michael J. McGivney in 1882 has served the Church and its parishes and communities for 130 years! Today it is the world's largest Catholic men's organization dedicated to upholding the teachings of the Catholic Church, helping people in need and fostering a bond between members.

As a Knight, men 18+ have the opportunity to strengthen our parish, give back to the community, and grow in faith. Joining our local council doesn’t mean sacrificing quality time with your family; volunteering an hour here or there with your family can make a real difference.

Our local Knights of Columbus Council #5272 is made up of men from Padre Serra  and St. Mary Magdalen parishes.  They coordinate and carry out fundraising and social events to support a variety of charitable causes and Catholic education.

For more information or to become a Knight, please visit Council 5272's website.

Illuman Central Coast Regional Gathering

3/2/2019

The Way of the Council
Saturday, March 2
9:30 am – 3:30 pm
Serra Center Lawn

Illuman is a journey of illumination for men seeking transformation and aspiring to become what they are meant to be, in order to do they are meant to do. All men are invited to learn more about speaking and listening – from the heart, with the heart, spontaneously and with brevity.

In this gathering we will examine the four established guidelines of the Way of the Council –the native tradition of group facilitation in which we gather in circle to be seen, heard, and deepened.

The prompts for this gathering will in fact be centered in the very guidelines of the Way of Council itself –speaking from the heart, listening with the heart, speaking spontaneously, and speaking with brevity.

This gathering will introduce the Way of Council process to those who are unfamiliar with the it, but who have a desire to be participants in council in the future --or who are interested in doing a Men’s Rites of Passage. We will also discuss and practice how to be effective facilitators of Council for those who are experienced in Council and would now like to lead Council.

Bring a lawn chair, drums, warm clothing.
Lunch will be served. $20 donation is appreciated.
Hosted by Padre Serra Men’s Ministry.
