Marriage Preparation & WeddingsWhen a man and woman make a commitment to marry each other in the Catholic Church that decision is joyful and very serious and sacred. Through the Sacrament of Matrimony, Jesus calls the couple to draw closer to each other, to God and to God’s people, the Church. Because marriage is a permanent commitment to a partnership of life, it requires careful thought, much prayer, and intense preparation. As a parish, we are pleased to journey with you during this special time. Those who are already registered and attending for a minimum of one year or siblings, children, or grandchildren of Padre Serra parishioners. The first step in the process is to read Sacrament of Marriage Requirements of Padre Serra Parish and then, contact Teresa Runyon in our parish office for more information and to make an appointment with a deacon or priest. Visitors are those couples who are parishioners in another parish You are welcome to celebrate your wedding at Padre Serra Parish. In order to do so, couples must complete the sacrament preparation in their home parish and, if they live in the greater Los Angeles area, bring a priest or deacon to celebrate the wedding liturgy.
