Each year the Church honors all the saints, named and unknown, with a special feast day.
The Saints are not just those we look up to as examples of living holy lives. They are our friends in heaven. We believe that, together with them, we are one Church. They care deeply about us, and we can ask them to pray for us as we journey to join them in heaven.
Pope Francis reminds us that we can all be holy in the context of our ordinary lives. He tells us those holy ones are not gloomy but “joyful and full of good humor.”
Come to Mass for this holy day of opportunity, thank God for their example and friendship, and be strengthened on our journey to be saints in our ordinary lives.
