Guest musicians are welcome only with the approval of the Director of Liturgy and Music, and will work with, not in place of, Padre Serra music ministers (see below):
In response to the requirements of the Catholic wedding liturgy, (with or without mass) our practice at Padre Serra Parish is to staff each wedding with an accompanist (pianist/organist) and a cantor, a vocal soloist specially trained in Catholic liturgy, particularly for leading the assembly (the wedding guests) to participate in the sung prayer and ritual. The accompanist's fee is $225 and the cantor/soloist fee is $200. You may also wish to arrange for additional instrumentalists to enhance your wedding music even further. Typical fees for additional instrumentalists range from $175 to $250.
Payment is required for all musicians no later than four days prior to the wedding ceremony. Details are to be worked ahead of time with the Director of Liturgy & Music. Thank you and congratulations again.
