This month, we welcome Michele Loughman, Director of The Life Centers of Ventura County, to give a presentation on the life-saving work they do. As a licensed medical clinic, building on the long history of peer counseling and helping mothers and infants, the LCVC provides free services including nurse-administered pregnancy tests, obstetrical ultrasounds, nurse consultations, referrals for medical and social services. Education, compassion and care is what they offer women, many of whom may be in very challenging circumstances.

The Life Centers of Ventura County's mission is to to help empower women to make wise and loving decisions for themselves and their unborn children.

Life Centers of Ventura County has been serving women and families since 1972. Michele will give a brief history of the LCVC and will share some interesting stats, facts and stories about the impact the Life Centers has had on the lives of women and children in our county. She will show a quick video about the work at the Center.

Michele is so grateful for the support and generosity of the Padre Serra & St. Mary Magdalen faith communities over the years. She feels honored to be able to come and share firsthand the work that so many of you make possible.

Doors open at 9:45 for refreshments provided by AlmaVia.

All seniors are invited to a weekly class of adaptive exercise that is gentle and easy, focuses on balance, involves using chairs for support, alternating standing and sitting. Bring own hands weights if you wish.

“Blessed is she who has believed.” These words, inspired by our good God, are voiced for all to hear. Mary is called blessed because of her pure and unwavering faith. Blessed too will we be if we imitate her and become Christian who are truly servants of the Lord.

About Sister Antionette Marie Moon, SND
A native Californian, Sister Antionette has been a Sister of Notre Dame for 58 years. She has taught and was principal in elementary and secondary schools in Los Angeles and Thousand Oaks. Her ministry has taken her to Rome for a dozen years and Africa for four. Currently Sister Antoinette gives her time and talent to RCIA at St. Paschal Baylon and Kindred Hearts, the Sisters of Notre Dame spiritual and formation outreach program.

This session covers: identifying legal needs; grandchildren and legal relationships; elders at risk; legal documents for elders; resolving housing disputes; communication, hiring legal professionals; when to use the court system and community resources.

Jay Ziebart is Plant Based for Life speaker, health educator, and transition specialist. She recently left a position as an education specialist with two hospitals in Ventura County to pursue her passion full time. She has a health science background as well as special certifications to teach diabetes and chronic disease management. She volunteers with Ventura County Public Health where she has assisted with events, screenings, and taught health education for after school programs. Her passion is reducing suffering through teaching people how to take back their health with nutrition. She has dedicated her life to empowering others to achieve their best health.
